ChoirMate loads choir content and saves most changes over the internet. Audio and sheet music prepared for offline use are stored separately on your device. Identifying which of these is affected is the quickest way to solve a sync problem.
Start by checking the scope
Ask what is actually missing:
- Is one song, event, message, or file affected?
- Is all content in one choir affected?
- Is content missing only on one device?
- Did an upload or save action show an error?
If only one item is missing, its visibility or voice-part settings may be the cause. If a whole choir appears to be missing, confirm that you signed in with the expected email address and selected the correct choir.
If new content does not appear
- Check that another app or website can reach the internet.
- If both are available, switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data.
- Return to the previous screen, then open the affected screen again.
- Close and reopen ChoirMate if the content is still stale.
- Install the latest ChoirMate update from the App Store or Google Play.
A Wi-Fi or mobile-data symbol does not always mean the internet is reachable. Venue, workplace, and school networks, as well as VPNs and content filters, can block a service the app needs.
If your change is missing on another device
Wait for the save or upload to finish before closing ChoirMate. If the app reported that an internet connection was needed, reconnect and repeat the action. Do not assume that every failed action will be sent automatically later.
For audio uploads, keep ChoirMate open until the upload has completed. Video messages have an outbox while the app remains open. If a video is marked as failed, use Retry or cancel it and send it again.
Avoid editing the same item on two devices at the same time. Let the first save finish, then reopen the item on the other device.
Offline content is different from sync
Opening or playing supported audio and sheet music while online can prepare it for offline use. A grey cloud with an arrow means the file is not ready offline. A purple cloud with a check means it is stored on this device.
When the device is offline, you can use prepared files, but new choir content and many actions still require a connection. Reconnect, wait briefly, and reopen the relevant screen before trying the action again.
Signing out, reinstalling ChoirMate, or clearing app storage removes files downloaded for offline use. It does not remove choir content that has already synchronized to your account.
Info
See Using ChoirMate Offline for the full offline workflow and cloud indicators.
Android background restrictions
When ChoirMate is open and the device is online, current content should load in the foreground. Android battery or data restrictions are more likely to delay notifications or background playback than foreground synchronization.
If those background features are affected, open Android Settings, find Apps, then ChoirMate, and allow background data. You can also set battery use to Unrestricted or the closest option on your device. The labels vary between manufacturers.
Reinstall only as a last resort
First update ChoirMate, restart it, restart the device, and test another network. Before reinstalling, make sure you know your account email and that completed changes are visible on another device or in ChoirMate on the web.
Reinstalling removes downloaded offline files and other local app data. Pending or unfinished work that never reached ChoirMate's servers may not be recoverable.
