Annotate Sheet Music in ChoirMate
Mark your own part with pens, highlights, text, music symbols, and private layers
The new sheet music reader lets you keep every breath mark, entrance, reminder, and interpretation together with the score. Your personal annotations are private by default and available whenever you open the same sheet music.

Open the annotation tools
Open a song from a set list or the repertoire and tap its sheet music. Move to the page you want before starting so the music stays in place while you annotate.
- 1
Tap the annotation button in the reader toolbar.
- 2
Choose your personal layer, or create a new layer for a particular rehearsal or purpose.
- 3
Select a pen, highlighter, text tool, eraser, or music symbol.
- 4
Tap the check mark to save your changes and return to normal page navigation.
Choose the right tool for the mark
Each tool keeps its own colour and size. Customize it once, then reuse it throughout the score.
- ●Pen — breaths, phrasing, circles, arrows, and quick handwritten notes
- ●Highlighter — dynamics, difficult passages, or the line you sing
- ●Text — clear reminders that stay readable at every zoom level
- ●Music symbols — ready-made markings such as breath and emphasis symbols
- ●Selection and eraser — move, resize, edit, or remove existing marks
Your personal layer stays private
Marks go into your personal layer unless you deliberately choose another layer. Other choir members cannot see it. Your saved layer follows the sheet across your devices and is available offline after it has synchronized.
Use layers without cluttering the score
Create separate layers for vocal coaching, staging, language, or different conductors, and show only the layers you need. Authorized leaders can share a layer with the whole choir, a section, or selected singers. Sharing a layer never exposes your separate personal layer.

Apple Pencil and precise editing
On iPad, draw naturally with Apple Pencil while your finger remains available for navigation. Undo and redo are always close by. Use the selection tool when a mark is right but needs to move, resize, or change colour.

Free launch preview and Premium access
During the launch preview, everyone can save annotations. After the preview, saving and synchronizing annotations requires individual Premium or a Premium group subscription.
If Premium access ends, your saved marks are not deleted. They remain stored and become visible again when Premium is activated. Without Premium, you can still try the tools for 20 seconds in an unsaved demo.
