I'm Kari and I run 5 community choirs in Nottingham in the UK. Our Liberty Singer choirs range in size from 150, 60, two at 25 and 1 at 12. We sing popular songs usually in 3 or 4 part harmony which I arrange myself and create audio recordings for.
Opportunities for performance are usually local and for community events although this year, for the first time, we'll have all 5 choirs together in a really prestigious venue for our own concert.
We are non-auditioned with an emphasis on connection rather than perfection creating a little bit of Liberty Magic in every single rehearsal and performance we do.

Professional Background
As a passionate performer and advocate for music in community settings, I have built a dynamic career in workplace singing and community choirs. My dedication to fostering a love for singing allows people from all walks of life to come together through the power of song.
I was the creator of ICU Liberty Singers, a unique initiative that encourages people to embrace their voices online during the pandemic and find joy in singing.
The challenge of performing 4 songs in one night at Kari-oke showcases my versatility and ability to connect with the audience in a memorable way, making each performance an exciting celebration of music and togetherness.
ChoirMate Experience
With 5 choirs and around 200 singers, ChoirMate has brought a new found calm to my life. Previously, we used a Facebook group, a OneDrive for storage and a website for rehearsal audio. There were problems logging in and accessing things and the whole system was clunky.
The streamlined nature of ChoirMate has meant less stress for singers who can now find things easily. There's a real community spirit about people helping each other with the app and sharing new ways to make the most of the features.
It has revolutionised my community choir family.

Appointed choir members are responsible for updating the practice lists for their vocal group. Since the practice lists are shared, the fellow group memebers can easily get started practicing. This app is truly a game changer for choirs. Communication, line tapes, sheet music, lyrics, scheduling, set lists are all clearly accessible in a way that previous apps or communication methods haven't come close to achieving
ChoirMate has changed our choir for the better. Our choir members learn their parts quicker because they can listen to them at home anytime. All members can also look at the calendar to see what events are coming, where, and what songs to sing. It's super easy to use, even the less technically minded find it easy to use.
